Hi, how do Tricker's 4496 and 4537 compare to C&J's 348?
Do they run large?

Received wisdom suggests the 348 is narrow and elongated where as the Tricker's 4537 is wide without being elongated. I don't have any experience with the 4496.

C&J last 348 is not particular narrow, but is extremely long.

The total length of a given last is called the "˜stick length', that is the length of your foot plus the allowance in front of the toe.
Conventional English wisdom is that the allowance is 2 whole sizes 2/3" (17 mm). Some lasts (rounded) have less,
particular Austro-Hungarian ones (maybe 13 mm) others (pointed) have more.

C & J last 348 is about 3/8" (10 mm) longer than the "˜conventional' C&J lasts

The width (the circumference) in both shoes will be, more or less, the same,
but as the Drummond is longer, the shoe will look slimmer.

If you like the look or the fit of C&J last 348, stay away from any Trickers last.
If the conventional C&J fit well, Tricker's might be a smidgen larger than C&J, but not much.

Thanks for the infos, I love the 348, but was thinking about some country boots and tricker's seem to be a classic in that range
