Just wondering if anyone has any good pics of this Chelsea boot? As you know, the Tricker's website is pretty awful and it is difficult to get any good images shot from different angles.
How does this boot compare to other quality Chelsea boots (e.g. C + J "Chelsea"). I'm not considering EG, as I'll take it for granted that these are a foot or two above the rest.
The last shape on the "Lambourn" looks classic, traditional, as you would expect from Tricker's. I've hesitated at the C + J boot - the last looks a little bit 'pointy'. But is in chestnut = +
Tricker's make the "Lambourn" in black and expresso (instant coffee, without milk, black) = -
I have a pair of Tricker's "Bourton", fitting 5, and they are perhaps the nicest brogues ever! The fitting is very generous - I'm a UK 10 and I take a 9.5 in the brogue. So, how do they fit?
Any views much appreciated. I'm after a (1) traditional; (2) classic; (3) "English" chelsea boot.
As an aside, there does seem to be a gap between tan/brown and dark brown. Many shoes are, to catch all punters, made in dark brown. Good for formal, good for casual. But it is the most boring colour! What you want is a good, rich, creamy brown where the lighter and darker hues and tones will come through. The Grenson "Bleasdale" alsmost has a putty brown appearance. My thinking is: make one in brown (e.g. chestnut or burgundy) and another in black. Job done. It perhaps reflects a degree on insecurity in Bristish shoe making - no adventure (tight costs).
