Hello all this is my first time on the forum,

I have a question about Tricker's boots and what trousers go with them.
I have recently purchased a pair of Tricker's Ripon boots in C-Shade

http://www.thebureaubelfast.com/shop...se-ripon-boot/

I was wondering if they would work well with charcoal trousers or light grey trousers.
I usually wear brown shoes that are more close to tan with charcoal trousers (C&J westbourne) but am wondering if the same rules apply to country boots.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

First of all, welcome to SF! Also, congratulations to your first pair of Tricker's, I am sure they will serve you well.

Ripon is a plain galosh style derby country boot in Tricker's signature colour, the C-shade. This orange-brown colour will always draw some attention, but it goes well with most trouser colours. Remember, however, this is a sturdy boot, and unless you want to make a fashion statement, it calls for fairly casual trousers. Corduroys, moleskins, cavalry twills or flannels for the traditionalist and chinos or jeans for just about everybody else. They actually looks stunning with dry selvedge denim.

Charcoal trousers, especially if in lightweight suiting, would perhaps not be ideal though. But try it out, find a full body mirror, and have a look. If you are already used to wearing tan C&J I am sure you can trust your own judgment...

Yours,
Mr. Tweed

Listen to everything Mr. Tweed has said to you. This is right up his alley regarding style and he will offer the best tips on how to wear these boots right! Also welcome to SF and I have to admit the only reasons I am commenting on this is because those are beautiful boots, love the color. Hope they serve you well, which I'm sure they will !!

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
