I am buying my father some formal shoes as a christmas present, he's never had high quality shoes before and has a kind of "it's not worth it" attitude. I aim to show him it's worth buying a quality pair of shoes in the long run.
I have seen a pair of Trickers City Collection Kent shoes for around £230 and my price point is £200-300, I've searched these forums extensively but there is so much information I am overwhelmed.
The key points are:
- He will most likely wear them to work, his job does not require a massive amount of walking (Office job) but they still need to be durable.
- They need to be comfortable, so comfort over style.
- I would prefer them to be of an oxford design or something similar, nothing too flashy, just some nice formal, black/very dark brown shoes.
The Trickers City Line I notice has leather soles which I know wear out far quicker, but they are also chanelled (not sure how much this helps?)
What are my alternatives in this price range and should I even consider the Trickers City Collection?
