Hello Ed,

Yes me too, but I was thinking as this is a rain coat, shouldn't it protect and fully cover your sleeves, in case or hard rain for example ?

I think that they are too short both from a practical and style standpoint. Is it possible to lower them an inch?

Sure they can be lengthened but the old crease will be visible, it is cotton

The principal point of outerwear, especially rain wear, is to protect you and your clothing from the elements. That point is lost as to wrists and shirt/jacket cuffs if they are not covered. I insist that the sleeves of my outerwear extend about one inch past my shirt cuffs (which are exposed about one-half inch past my jacket cuffs) when my arms are hanging relaxed at my sides. Yes, this means that when my arms are in that position the sleeves of my outer garment cover a bit of the back of my hand and my palm. It also means, however, that no matter how I move my arms, my wrists and cuffs are covered and protected.

Further, as a matter of style and aesthetics, shirt/jacket cuffs hanging out of the sleeves of one's overcoat or raincoat is akin to a shirt tail hanging out from under a sweater or jacket. Sloppy, in my view. Why is the same not true of showing linen (shirt cuffs) when wearing a suit jacket or sport coat? Because it's not.

Looks good. In response to those who raise functional concerns, I don't think these really have much merit. In a storm, one of your hands will almost certainly be holding an umbrella. The other one will either be carrying a briefcase or will be in your pocket. I have always worn my trenchcoats like this, and have never had an issue with the cuffs not being fully protected.

Also ... if the sleeves of the trenchcoat extend much further, it looks really sloppy to me, like you are borrowing the coat from your father.

I think that it is a little bit too short, not super noticable short though.
I would say that the sleeve should end about a half inch above where your thumb starts. It should definately cover your shirt sleeve.

Too short. suit jacket or sportcoat sleeves should show cuff. Overcoat or raincoat sleeves should extend past the cuff.

So, I have it fixed

i had the idea of sewing it over the old crease so it dissimulates it.

It has still not be to the pressing again so it is a bit wrinkled..

but how does it look now to you ?

Well, predictably I think it's too long.

Good idea on stitching over the crease ...

And I think you should tie the belt, not actually belt it around the coat. It looks more ... dashing ... tied around.
