I have been wanting to buy a nice Trench Coat. I saw one recently in a magazine by Allegri. I am not familiar with the brand. It was around 975.
Are they well constructed and are they wroth the price. What other good brands are worth looking at around the 1k mark. I dont like burberry

I have a couple of Allegri raincoats and I've been very pleased with their performance. Most of their designs are a bit out there but they usually offer a few classics every season. And, Aquascutum is like Burberry without the plaid.

Allegri is a nice brand for trenchcoats, they're often slimfitting and have some weird models but also some more classic styles. The quality is great, but $975 seems a bit expensive imo. I dont thin Allegri is that expensive, atleast not in Europe. You mention that you didnt like Burberry but do you mean classic Burberry or Burberry Prorsum because Prorsum honestly has some of the nicest trenchcoats i have ever seen. It's a totally different beast from old Burberry

edmorel had some recently and I picked one up. I really like it. Quite classic cut but with a twist of very modern techno fabric. Only issue is that it's hard to casually tie belt (as opposed to buckle) because of the sheen of the fabric.

Sorry if this is off-topic, but is Burberry the only one offering MTM trench coats?

I'm pretty sure Aquascutum offers a MTM service as well.

I don't see anything about it on their website. Have you done it before?

No, but I did look into it - I think I remember it being only availabe in-store. Probably contacting them directly would get a more concrete answer.
