Hi all, Im buying a Burberry trench coat, and Im left with one very important question:
Black or Khaki?

I kinda prefer black, but I am concerned it may look to juvenile or just be a fad.

I'm a slim athletic guy, and as such im getting a more modern slim fit, shorter trench.

So whats everyones opinions on this?

If you're really worried about appearing faddish, get a traditionally cut trench coat. Black is less traditional than khaki, though it has been available for decades -- I had an old one in the 80s, well before Columbine (it was actally a balmacaan, but there were black trenches about as well). Black shows dirt and wear more readily than khaki, and heats up if the sun comes out. For these reasons khaki is better. But I still like both.

i'd go with a very light khaki, that would make it easier to wear with black if you were so inclined. it worked for me anyway.
