Hi,

I have a tailor who can make me a bespoke trench coat but I have to source the fabric first. Looking into 100% cotton for the outershell that should keep me warm in 10C weather. No interlining, maybe a slightly heavier cupro / rayon lining.

Does anyone know what is the approximate fabric weight of a 100% cotton burberry trench coat? At least as a starting point.

I have found a few online stores here in Europe that sell some cotton gabardine, drill, twill etc. They seem to be in the range of 7oz/200gr to 14oz/400gr. TBH I tend to go for the heavier one. :) But I admit I'm pretty unfamiliar with cotton trench coats.

Thanks!

Holland & Sherry has a folder of cloths for trench coats. Find a tailor who has it

Thanks for the H&S tip but otherwise you're answering a question I never asked.
I need to find the right fabric, not a tailor. :)

If you find a tailor who has the book he can tell you the cloth weight. Think that is your question.
Holland & Sherry is to the trade only. You will need a tailor or someone with an H&S account to order the cloth :)
