I bought these last week and am feeling slightly silly because I can't work out what the best way to use them is. Currently, I have the rear part bent upward out of the shoe, with the wooden part lodged at the heel of the shoe, touching the bottom. Is that the way these are supposed to be used? My concern is that set this way, they are pushing the front part up and outward, rather than full trees which tend to push mostly length ways.
I bought them mainly because I have boots that I can't find trees for, and these offer the flexibility to be used in many different types of footwear.
I bought a pair of these at the same time, but am a bit disappointed, the spring in them seems very weak so there is hardly any pressure being exerted on the shoe. Having not bought Jones shoe trees before, I'm not sure if that's how they are supposed to be.
