I contemplated closing it on several occasions, but there's really nothing that objectionable, just people blowing off steam and actually some pretty interesting comments regarding the nature of patriotism, etc.

Alas the name lies, "firstnew.gif" on the User CP page has a mouseover of "Go to last post" and that is in fact what it does: it takes me to the last post in the thread.

What I love is the front page's ability to take me to the first new post in a thread.

That would be real nice.

Threads are loading funny for me. I can see them fine but they show as not fully loaded and the status bar says "Transferring data from www.google-analytics.com..." Also prevents me from quick-replying, as the reply hangs and hangs. Has been doing this for at least an hour.

Well, that's the google analytics trying to load (duh), but weird that it's not loading right. I'll look into it - they supposedly made an updated script I could maybe use instead.
