1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

    There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Can the "Saddest Thing" thread in General Chat, the one about the cat, be edited to take out the thread derailing that has occurred? There have been a lot of positive discourse in this thread and then someone comes in and turns it into an argument about the ethics of eating animals/mountain lions/ and how much a human life is worth compared to animals versus other types of animals. There have been a lot of people following this thread for follow ups on the original subject and it's being cluttered up by people who just want to get their two cents in on these ridiculous tangents.
    Actually, mods, please clear it out. I feel bad now. [IMG]

    Yes.

    This lag you speak of;
    I think it's a consequence
    of your high post counts

    I find it quite odd
    That you do not have the same
    Problems as I do

    The five-seven-five
    adds to a sense of whimsy;
    keeps the lag at bay

    Like dogs and women
    If you keep them interested,
    they respond to you.

    Why does Thomas not
    Have his own custom title?
    It's a mystery.

    Since the "flip flopper"
    Thomas is too scared to ask
    for one of his own.

    All things considered,
    Anybody should be scared
    To request his own.

    Not worth it. It was only one page that left everyone feeling a little more intelligent. Many other threads have been derailed far worse in the past.
