Our wise leadership may already have this under consideration: NoSpam is VBulletin mod that allows you to replace registration Captchas with a customized list of questions. A prospective member would have to provided a correct answer to a random question (from a list you generate) before they can complete the registration process. There is also Advanced Textual Confirmation plugin.

Thanks, I've tried installing that and something is weird with the plugin system right now. I'm going to have someone take a look at it ASAP.

That would be great to see. I can only wonder how the mods deal with it on a daily basis and the level of the spam has really dropped off in the last could weeks....all this crap Appreciation spam is becoming beyond words.
