1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Where have the sponsor links disappeared to?

Mevermind. When this post came up, so did they. At the bottom of the page now.

j and I did some cosmetic changes to the forum. As you see, the premium affiliates have much more visibility now, an we took the large corporate sponsors down to the bottom of the page, where readers can find them, but they are not in your face every time you see them.
    Enjoy.

    Fok.

I saw the error msg as well, didn't think it would pop up on everyone else's screen. [IMG]

Also, I am working on a magic script to look for the string "apple bottom jeans" and perma ban the writer from the entire internet forever.
me likee this. I think we could probably add in some phrases like "iphone AND vaio AND nokia" and something similar for Chinese shoe factories to cut out all that crap.

Is there a way to banish certain posters to the Dumb Threads subforum?

I'm suprised the 'How Local do you look' thread got moved to dumb threads already. I thought it was a legitimate and interesting discussion. Are Coho's threads being shifted their by default now (not that I would likely disagree with this policy)? [IMG]

Ill take credit and/or blame for that move. Opened it, read a bit, thought 'here we go again' with a Coho poll, and just moved it to DT so it can be with its brethren.

Why do all the those "Apple Bottom Jeans" spams keep popping up again & again? Can the mods do a blanket ISP ban?

Only if I ban all of India. I already banned one huge IP range but they moved on to another one. I'm working on something though...

Sometimes I think you should ban all of the UK for the amount of wanker posters that we get from here...

Might also help me to get some work done

I suppose that you want your ass to pop? Fair enough.

Popping asses sound mildly disturbing. The name is bizarrely amusing.

Is there a new feature indicating the time of the last post in each subforum, or has it always been there and I've just been oblivious?

Oblivious. There's also a neat feature that shows you how many times someone has posted in a thread - in the drinking thread for example, connie's posted close to 200 times.
