Going to the concert next week, what should I wear? The concert is at 4, so it won't be dark when we go, but it will be after the concert when we go wine and dine. I will be taking my wife to a nice steakhouse afterwards.

Thoughts?

earplugs.

Just my opinion. But seriously, can't go too far wrong with jacket, shirt, and trousers.

TSO is more like a rock show than anything else (good music, if you can ignore the religious overtones).

Also, when I went to the concert a couple of years ago in the Fall, I just remember it being insanely hot inside the room. They also have a lot of special effects -- fake snow, foam, bubbles etc. Therefore, any outfits you wear may very well have things falling on them.

I'd just wear jeans and a sweater or something. After all, you're not going to the opera or a real orchestra.

Thank you! Religious overtones? I am not aware. I would guess it has something to do with Christmas?

I went to a TSO concert last December and I must say they put on quite a performance.

In regards to dress code, I wore dark jeans with an OCBD and a casual blazer and I was one of the better dressed people there. Most were just in jeans and T-shirts (then again that's par for the course in Southern California.) Dress appropriately for dinner and I'm sure you'll be fine for the concert.

I don't mean to offend anyone's tastes. Really. But my mother played TSO for me a few a year or two ago, advertising it as the greatest thing ever. I actually thought she was playing a joke on me. It was like Mannheim Steamroller meets Spinal Tap.

More or less anything you fancy. I doubt anyone will dress up and most will come straight from the beach or its autumn equivalent.

Don't fret so.

I've already got my Mannheim and TSO tickets for the Christmas season. FWIW, I'll most likely be wearing jeans, OCBD, single monks or boots, and a leather jacket.

Yup. Typically, half the show is Christmas themed while the other half is more "fun". Especially when the sexy hot blonde singers randomly show up in the crowd, singing.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
