bump - a couple of my buddies from new orleans are coming to visit me in toronto, and i sure as **** am not letting these wild animals stay with me (im fine with them, but i live with other people that can barely deal with regular everyday drinking, nevermind the kind of police trouble me and my nawlins buddies will doubtless get into) long story short, any recommendations for good/cheap hostels/hotels in toronto? they're visiting from august 7th to 15th, so thankfully we don't have to deal with TIFF prices or anything, but cheap would still be nice

Hotwire is always pretty huge for decent deals during the week and on weekends. Did you check Airbnb? Craigslist?

they're staying at this place called "backpackers on dundas" - very decent place, $27/night per head, and a constant revolving door for other college kids from all over the world
