Hey all,

Negotiating a used suit purchase - measurements fit me exactly (which is rare) but I am really torn on some details which makes me not really want to go higher than I am. It's ventless - i've done searches and it looks like its not as trendy to wear but passable.

Looking for some feedback as to the longevity of the fabric for non-casual wear, it looks purple in the pics but its advertised as gray.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I can get a good deal on it and add another suit to the rotation and I value the feedback here.

I'd say pass. ODLR suits were/ are nothing to write home about.

Ventless Oscar De La Renta? That thing is probably dated looking as hell. Pass.

don't take this the wrong way, but it doesn't sound like you're very experienced with this... I'd post the label here or somewhere else to guage an age on it but I have a suspicion it's old, like 15-20 years old. Just how rare is it to find a suit with measurements that fit you?

besides that it's ventless, what else are you concerned about?

for one, quality of pics aside, the stripes look rather dull, and the notch angled down might indicate it's older. Can't say for sure, but maybe post the label in another thread for age check.

Photos that seem deliberately set up to hide the massively wide shoulders it almost certainly has.

Stay far, far away. It's a licensed, fused piece of crap from ~20+ years ago when many major labels like Dior & YSL were licensing with reckless abandon. I pass at least 4-5 in thrift stores everyday.
