So there are pants (jeans) that look better with wear, there are accessories (wallets and belts) that look better with wear, and there are shoes (canvas sneakers or leather shoes/boots). Are there any tops that have the same principle?

I think oxfords and polos look a little better with wear.

I think cord and tweed coats look better a little beat up and w/ elbow patches.

You missed me didn't you. I'm kinda looking for a shirt that I can beat up a little when I'm doing some rougher work. I can obviously see the denim jacket thing but considering 90% of the time I'm wearing jeans I don't want to do the whole denim on denim thing. I'll look at some workshirts/flannel shirts I guess.

Ding ding, I'd say dress shirts too though, so long as they are well kept, they fall so nicely once you've gotten the stiffness out of them.

I have an indigo chambray which should break in well, a heavy oxford should do the same.

I love shirts that are worn in and have the collar and cuff replaced.
