Newest ep was fantastic. They took out 3 hot hatches and it was very entertaining. Not to mention the hilarious 'growler'

The laps around Monaco were awesome, even if done in tiny econo cars.

Interesting watching them race around Monaco after watching the F1 boys do it a few weeks earlier.

Think my buddies and I are going to try to organize a econo car review ala TG. The plan is to each rent a car, get a couple of walkie talkies, and have a friend supply us with challenges. Sounds like an epic time.

    First two eps were spectacular.

One thing I did not like however was how Jeremy drag raced the Cayman, Evora, and 1M. Around a track he knew the Cayman R would have beat out the 1M.

    1:25.0 - BMW 1 Series M Coupe
    1:26.7 - Porsche Cayman S

That is the 2006 Version. Imagine putting the new Stig, and the new Cayman Together.. It would flat out beat the 1 Series M around the track. Was not meant to go fast in a straight line only, and I do not think many people think it is meant to either. I can't say much about the Evora though, not too sure what to make of that right now.

Hehe you should film this and make a mock Top Gear style episode, then send it to the History Channel and tell them even I can do it better.

I think the M1 vs PCS was more of a "David vs Goliath" jab than anything else. No one is going to think that the PCS can't beat out many other cars on a track, it's just that you've got the the little engine that could in the M1 and he handled himself pretty well. TG Australia had a bit on the 1-series pre-M and they complained of the need for the M model and joked that it was a chick car regardless. Fifth Gear did a 135 v PC, too. I don't know, I've always loved smaller cars, especially ones that have rockets for engines. While I've strongly considered the 135i, I just don't think I could personally justify the price for the M1. My buddies are either photographers or film editors so I think filming this thing won't be much of a stretch. And we all hate TG America so we know we could do better. Speaking of which, they're filming it out in OC in another few weeks.

Yeah I saw the Fifth Gear video before.

Yes Top Gear America did suck, i can stand tanner foust and adam, but rutledge wood I definitely cannot. They tend to use words like 'Epic' a lot in the show, and I hope they fix things up right away because there is potential. Honestly thinking back to Top Gear UK Season 1, it was also kinda off and up and about. No one thought it would be as great as it was today back then.

Top Gear has gone stupid. It has been for a few years.

How many of these dumb adventures do we have to put up with? Just fucking test cars. That's what I want to see.

Granted, the show needs a bit of spice but do we have to do these races, and challenges, and dumb jokes every single week? How many more piece of shit jalopies do we need to see trek thru Tunisia? FFS.

And Jeremy Clarkson has descended into total asshole-dom. Adam Carolla is going to be starting a new show called The Car Show, mid July I think. Hopefully this wont descend into the regular stupidity Top Gear has.

I've been watching Top Gear since that fatty was one of the hosts. It was great for the first 2 or 3 seasons James May started, but since it has tried to top itself to the detriment of the show.

    Just test cars.

Oh, and James May is the best part of the show.

This. I don't care for those stupid adventures they go on. I just want to see awesome cars being driven and reviewed (in a biased manner).

Wow, I surprised you guys even watch the show at all if you think it's just about cars.

Love the car reviews. But to me it is about entertainment with cars...their adventures are hilarious.

I'm the same way. How many car magazines and review videos are there already out on the internet? I'd be bored senselessly if every show was just a repetition of the first 10 minutes.

    This.

In my mind, the best parts of Top Gear have always been the stupid challenges. Go through Bolivia in 4x4's bought online? Yes, please.

Yeah. Next month a trek thru Mongolia. Same jokes. Hilarity. They do great reviews, great comparisons, etc. My favorites are when they reach back, for example I loved the piece they did on the Aston Martin Lagonda, or the great one James May did on the Rolls Royce he bought, and the best piece they ever did: the one on Ayrton Senna. The show is so much better than exploding caravans. ^ is why I weed thru the stupid stuff.

I have to wonder which show you've been watching all these years, idfnl. These challenges didn't just pop up in Series Ten. And their adventure segments arguably offer the most insight in terms of detailed reviews because they're with the cars the longest.

No offense, but it sounds like you just like to bitch.
