This season is terrible, as a Texan it's doubly difficult to watch. How the hell did they come up with those hosts for the progressive dinner ep? Ridiculous. You think they could have at least picked some people who had an appreciation for this type of contest, I would have loved to turn those chefs loose in my house.

It's been kind of mediocre. Too many fucking team and banqueting challenges again. I want them cooking things I can't imagine myself making, which is why I don't care about low-brow steak challenges. I was really wanting to taste those chilis though. And I'd crush Nayeshi. And Grayson. And one of the other chicks. And that fat bitch is annoying. And where did Emeril go?

so far, really, really bad season. part of it seems to be the challenges, which are so stereotypically "here we are in texas, ya'all". steak? really? though TC was right when he called them out for not even trying on the rest of the menu. it's like hotel food. also, the personalities are kind of toxic. there's not really anyone yet to cheer for, either because of personality or evident talent. and the villains are just so irredeemably unlikeable.

As much as I hate Moto, I do find myself rooting for the guy that is left from there. Other than that, I like Edward Lee. But overall, they've both had several disappointments between quickfires and elimination challenges. But the challenges this year are beyond mundane. They're ridiculous.

    So bad...so classless.

I like Paul too, he seems to have a decent bit of skill but his "I'm the only one from Texas here so I need to win it" shtick is getting old...

That fat woman is beyond heinous and based on the previews for this week's ep, I'm going to feel very uncomfortable watching her jowls shake as she yells at people (again).

It's funny that she talks shit on Beverly for only doing Azn food, when she can only do southern or bar food.

But Beverly crying in like every episode is major WTF.

Also that tattoo on Bev's left arm is not really in line with her rather meek personality.

On behalf of Korean-Americans, I'd like to disown her. We'll keep Ed Lee.

On a related note, we've thoroughly enjoyed Next Iron Chef this season.

+awesomeness. Except I can't believe Faulkner is in the finale. I really thought it'd be Samuelsson and Zakarian. Samuelsson, with all his talent, just never seemed to be able to wrap himself around the concept of each individual challenge.

Yep, shocked to see MS go out so early, and never would have thought Faulkner could go the distance. But watching all the eps I think they both deserve their fates. Dude how badass was it to see Anne Burrell go out like that last week?! We were cheering like it was the Rose Bowl. Lol. Cooking shows have come a long way.

I'm totally rooting for Faulkner. She seems cool enough. I'm sure Zakarian is a super skilled chef and all, but he seems to have the whitest palate on earth--always complaining that things are too spicy. Plus, wasn't he sued for not paying his employees? I was drinking in downtown L.A. and talked to a dude who was a bartender at Orson. He said Faulkner was a really cool boss.

Ha! Interesting. Maybe she has loose standards when it comes to the booze.
