1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Bryan V and Kevin (ginger Santa) should be there.

They probably declined - I think both already had their own restaurants before the show (I know Kevin did, and Voltaggio does now) and I'm sure got plenty of name recognition from it.

Glad to see Bourdain will be a regular judge, and this has to be better than last season (quit watching after four or five eps).

They couldn't even come up with a stupid food pun for the title of the season?

I'm willing to bet that the Italian guy is one of the first three to go home.

Some very, very fine people in that show. Hard for me to pick a runaway.

Dale L. is one hell of a chef, as is Jennifer and Richard. There are some other strong people there though, but those three might be my favorites.

The fact that Elia was eliminated and this dude wasn't tells me that the producers really don't manipulate the show as much as people believe.

    Sort of pointlessly dickish.

I mean he is great and all but imagine if he had to face that line-up rather than a typical season with a good helping of third-raters. How does he know he would have won?

Not very nice to his brother either.

Yeah, what an ass. Of the best contestants in the Vegas season (him, his brother, Jennifer, and Kevin), he was by far the worst personality-wise.

i think he just chose his words poorly. he posted later about how he didn't mean to disrespect the contestants but was just responding to questions about why he wasn't participating.

Why would there be a question about why he wasn't participating? The whole premise of the show is "people who came close but didn't win."

I think Angelo and Richard (or as I always think of him, fauxhawk guy) are the frontrunners. Angelo's cooking probably appeals to me the most. I was happy to see him win the first challenge. I was hoping Kevin and Stefan would be around since both were great chefs and were a lot of fun to watch. Didn't watch Elia's season so this was basically my first introduction to her. Real cute. Sad she's out already.
