I was the winner of Polo saddle shoes :http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...5953&rd=1&rd=1

Grapevinehill sent me mismatched pare of shoes. When I contacted them they had no stock for exchange, so I ended up sending these shoes back the same day. What a let down. They are very nice looking shoes with unusual lacing and hidden metal eyelets.
Some freak of nature with different size feet is going to get a present.

I'm considering these shoes to wear with jeans and chinos. I'm a bit worried that they will look too elongated with jeans (I think that's the 337 last), but perhaps OK with lighter or dressier cotton trousers.

What would you wear these with?

Ah ha! Now i know who i'm up against. So what you're telling me is I'll be getting a second chance offer? Good to know about the different sizes. What were the different sizes? By the way, what was your max bid?

Correction: a second look tells me they are not 337. they don't have channeled soles and the toe is too rounded. Still likely CJ, but benchgrade for sure.

Let them know you are one the SF folks. They respect our buying power, they know we put a dent in the last batch of RLPL shoes.

They are wonderful looking shoes but not 337 last. They don't look elongated as my C&J hand grades. They are a bit wider in a wamp, thus shorter looking to my eyes.
Lacing is very nice and pebble/smooth leather contrast is great. I was thinking of darkening them, but after looking at them I felt they are interesting enough color.

They are casual shoes, so I would wear them with cords or wool pants. Jeans might be a bit too casual for these.

Now, Grapevinehill does not want to refund my shipping charges for return of mismatched shoes.

The STP did not refund me in full for returning suit that they marked 38R when in fact it was 44R.

Is it just me or customer service and overall handling of business were individual customers are involved have gone down significantly in a last 7-10 years. I know it sounds like an old man complaint.
I was always amused when the girl I am dating complained how everything is so stone age in US and so efficient in Sweden. I was amused until I started to pay attention to all those continuous little and not so little screw ups of various companies that I came in contact.
After Bank of America double charged me for tickets $400, my dentists charged me for something that is covered by Insurance with which he is preferred network member...
I thought oh well it happens. Now I am starting to notice that every time I deal with CS I am getting screwed and have to go back, make multiple calls and e-mails until matter is resolved.

Honestly I am getting sick of this BS. Do you think those are deliberate mistakes or just the result that all customer service nowadays is handled by software and people have no real input?

I tend to have lower expectations of customer service in huge businesses oriented towards discount customers. However, if I were paying closer to full price, I would expect a corresponding increase in the level of service.

I think when you're dealing with a discounter, you have to temper your expectations down.

If you want excellent customer service, buy at full retail in a B&M establishment.

I got a mislabeled suit from STP recently, and noted that on the return form. Initially they did not credit shipping, but offered to do immediately when I called them. I think you'll find them very responsive if you just bring it to their attention.
