I stopped by CEGO in NY on Saturday, and was measured for two shirts to see how they fit. I ordered a white poplin and a a blue plaid for around $120 each. It was a very good experience, and pretty quick. Carl was very nice. I did specify double button cuffs, MOP buttons, a standard placket, and no pocket. However I did not mention anything about the cuff/collar stiffness, or the yoke of the shirt. Does anyone know what they will do by default? EDIT --- Below are pictures of one of the shirts. Please comment so I can adjust and order more.

Carl is a very approachable sort. You might just call him and ask. That way, if it is not to your satisfaction, you and he can talk further.

thanks for stopping in.
the yoke is standard Not Split, if that is your question.

After chatting with you, I decided to give you a standard fused collar. It has body without being boardy. cuffs are non fused. the cuffs are a good weight, some customers feel they are a bit to heavy. I can soften up linings if necessary. The lining we use will hold up over repepated washings.

I hope that answers your questions.

Carl

I posted some marginal pictures of one of the shirts. I think I could have done a better job tucking it in.

Please let me know what needs to be changed.

In the first picture, I was going to say the shirt looks short but after you tucked it in it looks fine.

The fit of the blue plaid shirt is very nice. Your right sleeve may be a slightly long or the cuff opening may be a little wide and you may want to consider reducing the waist a touch on your next order. That's about all I can see.

one sleeve is longer than the other

and it looks a bit full in the back. i think it could use some darts, but then not everyone is a fan

Do not reduce waist size. If you do, your belly will show. It is as slim as you are going to be able to get. I would dart the back on the next order.

Much, much better fit than pretty much every 1st shot custom shirts we see on this site.

I think it looks pretty good.

Don't get a slimmer shirt until you get slimmer yourself.

Carl is an SF treasure but I'll pay 10X as much and get a shirt and a cappucino with Alex K

BTW: I agree with Mack, your shirt looks good but don't stress that "slim" stuff too much. Carl can make the shirt slimmer but you'll begin to look like a sausage encased in some nice shirting.

+1 to Mack and rnoldh. Looks good. Looking from the front, it's already as slim as it should be. If you wanted to tighten it up anywhere, you could ask for darts in the back, but I don't think that's really necessary here.
