Hi I new to the forum and need some advice . I was on Ebay looking for Ralph Lauren purple label suits when I came across some listings for a brand called Tony Lutwyche . The seller claims they are a full canvass construction and they were made in the original Chester Barrie factory in Crewe . They also claim that this factory made Rlaph Lauren purple label suits . Does anybody know if these are a full canvass suit and if they made Ralph Lauren purple label suits ? All the purple label suits I've seen have had made in Italy labels in them .

Has anybody on here bought a Lutwyche suit from Ebay or anywhere else . I have never even heard of the brand before . This seller doesn't accept returns so I want to be sure about the quality before I pull the trigger on any .

Some of the older RLPL suits were made by Chester Barrie (most of which are easily identifiable by the "Made in England" tag).

There’s a few members on here who have bought them and been very happy after some minor alterations
I’m sure they will be along later to pass on their comments

If you do a search you will find several threads about this. Lutwyche was the real deal and a number of their liquidated suits have been sold on eBay and eBay UK.

Yes. I bought a handful of suits and jackets last year on eBay. All of them are full canvas (confirmed by feel and by my alterations tailor). I'm very happy with them. Keep in mind, though, that Lutwyche had several different lines, and not all of them were full canvas.

Bumping this. What a shame to see this brand go. I own a dinner jacket, a sport coat and now suit from Lutwyche. I would put their handmade line against the best of them.
