Skipping Saddam's necktie party, this evening I watched 2046. Romantic and complex of course, but one things an SF member can't ignore is now closely fitting every shirt and suit is, when Leung wears it. If he did two push-ups, I swear nothing would fit.

Frequent Wong Kar-wai collaborator William Chang is credited as costume designer, but he sounds like he's focused more on women's clothing. Did he do the men's as well, or has one or another HK tailoring house laid claim to it?

The qipaos worn by the women in In The Mood For Love and 2046 are also incredibly form-fitting. Mood For Love has some of the most beautiful costuming and set direction I've seen. I also like the androgynous way Faye Wong was depicted in 2046.

Wong Kar-Wai rocks! Love his sensual films In the Mood For love, 2046 and Chung King Express. Even Ashes of time, Happy Together, As Time Goes By and Fallen Angels are good and interesting! One of the few modern day directors whose work I look forward to (others like Angelopolous, Kiarostami, Rivette, Ozon, Breillat, Miike, etc)

The Tony Leung in The Lover is Tony Leung Ka Fai, known as "Big Tony" to differentiate from the Tony Leung in 2046, In the Mood for Love, Chungking Express, etc., who is Tony Leung Chiu Wai aka "Little Tony," due to their respective heights.

Regarding William Chang. Does he have his own shop or he just designs for a major company?
