Tonight on Lou Dobbs, Tony Blankley from the WaPo was commenting on Bush's immigration address. His clothing was really striking: Charcoal pinstripe peak-lapel suit Creamsicle-orange horizontally (a first for any major news network?) striped shirt with contrast collar Black grenadine tie, FIH Neon orange pocket square Kudos to Tony. Impeccable, and a welcome break from the usual dull duds of Washington. Below is one of the only good photos I could find. [IMG] EDIT: He's on 'till about 9. Tune in now if you can.

He is usually on the Maclaughlin (sp?) Group on Sundays, PBS. He does usually dress rather well (at least for typical TV people).

Personally, I think large men look much better in three-pieces or double-breasteds.

    I completely agree on that.

I've seen Blankley in db suits on various occasions for the McGlaughlin Group.

I only agree on the DB, if by large you mean length, not girth. Nothing worst looking to me than an overweight person is a DB suit where the persons belly causes the "buttoned" buttons to stick out. I do believe that overweight men are quite well served by three piece single breasted suits.

I'd say a second watch for my next thread!

EDIT: Since I can't find it it was James Lipton last night with Tom Hanks on Inside the Actor's Studio

Tony and Larry Kudlow and Roger Stone(a GOP consultant) are the three best dressed guys in Washington that I see. Unless you were a true and blue trad, anglo and italian influence was non existent when I worked in dc 20 years ago. In fact, I cannot forget the looks I received when I wore a double breasted suit(A conservative blue, anglo cut) to work. I think the environment has no doubt changed, but trad prevails.

I'll grant that Blankley is bold, especially for DC, and the shot you've posted is one of his better outfits. But based on the McLaughlin Group, he can be hit or miss. He often wears some terrible earthtones.

Unfortuantely, he's one of those people who'spersonality, demeanor and views affect how I look at him.
