Hi I just made an order for a Tom James Ventura custom suit at one of their trunk shows. The material was Holland & Sherry. After having a suspicious view of the whole Tom James Concept...I have picked up some nicely priced custom suits when they had sales. I was repeatedly assured that the Ventura is made by Oxxford in Chicago. Is this true? Has anyone else out there ordered any of these suits? Just curious what a Holland & Sherry Super 150 Hand Made by Oxxford should cost?

Thanks

I don't think so. I think that the Oxxford factory only makes Oxxford suits.

A bit of relevant info from an old thread (http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=5523)

The custom shirts can really be nice, but if you want the truly good stuff go to the same retailer that does the Oxxford and ask to see the Y'Apre hand made shirts they offer. Incredible. Beautiful fabrics that will range from $250 to $500.

Freeman (not Hickey-Freeman), English American, and Oritsky.

OK... Tom James custom is not done by Oxxford, and the pricing for the two is NEVER going to be the same. Oxxford uses far more hand sewing than Tom James, so it's oing to be more expensive.

As for the Ventura, if you can stand the pricing, go for it, you'll never have anything better cloth wise. I have several Holland & Sherry suits, but alas only one Vetura, and the cloth of the Ventura is far superior to the regular H&S.

Also, don't put Oritsky in the same boat as H. Freeman. If you look at the waistband of their trousers, you can clearly see that they are not the same, and they are not made in the same location.

I haven't seen the Ventura, but I have been told by people in the business (Tom James, IAG, and Oxxford) that the Ventura is an excellent handmade suit. Its Tom James's top of the line.

Congratulations! You have purchased an excellent suit. Enjoy it in good health.
