I have the opportunity to take a flyer on a Tom Ford suit (i.e., can't try it on). The suit is listed as a 48 with 17.5" shoulders (not sure how exact the measurements are).

I'm typically a 48 (Canali, ISAIA, Hugo, etc.). Most shoulders seem to be 17.75" to 18".

From what I've read, it is suggested that buying a size up might be a good idea for Tom Ford. Any experience with Tom Ford sizing relative to other designers?

Seriously though, I wish every suit ever made fit like those Tom Ford suits do. Fucking righteous.

Thanks. Those are both great looking pieces. Will continue to be on the lookout for 50s, I guess.

What model of Canali and Boss do you like the best?

I fit the Canali 52 like a glove across my shoulders. The best fit for me is the Model 13000 Drop 7 but I fit the other models well.

In Boss the Cary Grant 52 model's shoulders are too narrow. My triceps/biceps poke out from under the shoulder pads so I have to up-size to a 54.

I tried on a Tom Ford 52 R Base A and the fit across the shoulders were fine.

Sorry, but I have never worn either of those brands. Im pretty much a standard UR 38R, (well, lately a 40R) and these size 50EU TF suits fit... as you can see, slim.
