TF is trying to recreate the Studio 54 days. His clothing evokes the club. Highly exclusive, but for those who are in the know, it's all that matters. I believe that it's where he gets his main inspiration from.

This collection is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. In a massive good way. Every pic I scroll across, I find myself bending forward with my face an inch closer to my laptop screen. I just couldnt keep my jaw closed either. I'm flabbergasted.

Look 20 - Grey Fox Parka Fur - Wooah. So flamboyant. Falling-off-cliff type chic-ness. I would never pull it off. That isnt the point. The beauty of it, is just amazing. Just. Want. To. Grope. That. Fur.

Look 23 - Grey felted cashmere with shaved beaver lining & leather detail. Very wearable. I'm keen on it.

Look 36 - Double cashmere military peacoat. Yearning for that one. Looks like any other peacoat but TF's coat seems to fit abit more snugly complimenting & enhancing the silhouette.

What an outstanding collection. I can't pull most of it off nevertheless I'm curious how it fits in person. Good stuff.

Burberry has created such a massive stigma its around trenchcoat that is almost impossible not to subconsiously get rid of that comparison with every trenchcoat out. I think some of the pieces in there is 'right in your face' type pieces, as someone rightly pointed out that exudes the message of higher luxury status & being able to pull it off because of them able to afford them. Then again TF targets such customers, 'customers who has everything & looking for something more exclusive'.

I can't imagine TF making a more subtle collection than this and certainly, I am curious what he will/can create in his future collections.

I was not necessarily referring to the trench coat (which is beautiful btw), but rather a few of the jackets and scarves. They are extremely similar to a few burberry pieces from the past year or two. The only difference is that these are much better quality and made of ridiculously exquisite materials. River otter...

After letting it sink in, I actually love a decent amount of what is presented here. The theme is just not really something I would personally go for, but that isn't the point. The image Tom Ford has created is very consistent, and his love of 70's chic fashion really does glow most with this collection.

...Look 13 still makes me want to say "Stay classy, San Diego"

For anyone who's interested, here are the non-scaled-down collection shots where the details are a little more visible (the pictures are still directly linked from the TF website but without being scaled down by the flash player)

Some of those poses defy gravity... Tom Ford gets my respect, a great willingness to help the customer. On one occasion, the Tom Ford boutique in NY mailed me samples of his whole private blend fragrance line, no charge. From the look of this years Autumn / Winter line, there is something here for everyone

This **** is way beyond. I love it.

I'm a tailor. not one those who call themeself tailor. I love your suit, in siluette and finishing to me are the best compared to any good ready make company and even better of the big names who do M.T.M. In Feb 2011 in Toronto I see one of your suit , it was the best I had see. But please tell me how you feel when you see you suit paid $ 10.000.00. Canadian and the alteration ruin your suit: see button hole, shorten sleeves finished in terrible way. Way no you no other big manifacturre take lilly of the big profit and sponsor those who want to learn tailoring.

That model's poses are awful. Tom Ford is extremely '70s but I like a lot of it and think its great for the industry.

Funny that slim 60s style lapels are so popular right now, and TF is doing this.

I've always been a fan but I think that, with this season, the overall proportions, etc, finally jumped the shark.

I'm pretty sure the mannequin is swedish model Mathias Bergh.

Not a huge fan of the collection. Especially since most half-decent thrift stores overflow with similarly styled clothes.
