I just came back from a three day shopping expedition in Tokyo. I unfortunately don't have any pictures to share with you all but I have to say that Tokyo, as others have pointed out, is a shopping dream.
The food is of a very high standard, customer service is exceptional and the range of mens clothing is unparalleled in the universe that we know today.
I went to Tokyo with the goal of picking up a pair if shoes. I originally wanted to pick up a pair of EGs but was advised that these are prohibitively expensive... so I changed my goal and went with the intention of picking up a pair of Japanese loafers.
My first stop of the day was Isetan Shinjuku. I was simply taken aback by the vast range of shoe offerings on their basement level. It was simply divine.
Every shoe known to man can be found there. As I'm not a big timer, I made my way to the Japanese section where I saw a stunning pair of chestnut brown loafers from Union Imperial. These were only 30,000 yen. Goodyear welting, great leather finish and fantastic stitching colour. I was happy with it. I also picked up a lovely matching belt from their as well. I was concerned about finding an exact match... so to address this TWO sales assistants escorted me up to the belts section and compared the two shoes and belt colours. This was only one example of the excellent service that is the norm in japan
I also paid a visit to United Arrows. This store has excellent quality products anf is a must for those who like to look preppy. Mostly Japanese and a little on the expensive side. I picked up a pair of navy blue with grey pinstripe cotton pants to get ne through long humid days in Singapore.
I will plan to go back their again as I was only able to cover a small section of this great city. Upping my budget 1000% more too.
This is my first attempt to report ever. So apologies for my lack of details.
