My mind is torn between two leather jackets.
Should my first TOJ jacket be a MDR or a four zip Moto?
Both of which look ridiculously good, any input from TOJ enthusiasts?

You can't go wrong with either, but I personally prefer the MDR

Dress your body type - Moto and MDR are sometimes good for one build and not the other, and some people are lucky enough to make both work. I think stouter guys should gravitate towards the Moto, and slimmer guys should go to the DRs....

Had an MDR, sold it and picked up a moto instead. I didn't feel like I could rock it as often as the moto. Maybe I don't have the swag, but I think the moto's just easier to wear.

Probably because the leather type is more for fashion jackets. If i were to get a jacket of that type i would go for some hard wearing, thick, rugged looking leather.

Daypack announcement:

We are making a second sample tomorrow - we wanted to make sure the workflow and order is good before running up multiples, so as usual we'll make one more prototype just the same to make sure we're on the same page and the production will come out as expected. I have decided to make the bottom portion in TOJ calfskin, rather than our goat. Wanted to add a bit more thickness and durability, and the calf won out. In terms of how it will look - it'll look just the same. It's black leather, and so the differences will be inconsequential to the eye.
Because we showed the first sample with a goat trimmed bottom, and the next one will be calf - just wanted people who've ordered a backpack to let us know that going to calfskin will be ok. We can only do it with one type of leather and so there is no 'choice' per se, but if there's a backlash we can stay with the goat. I'd prefer to evolve to calfskin for the thickness, though. Let us know, people.

People don't realize how robust this MA-1 actually is for just day-to-day wear.

There's this vibe about the MA-1, especially in the navy color that I really love. Like I'm wearing something that's been issued to me. Something a mailman or a cop would wear. I really love that. And it's very comfortable because I wasn't too fussy about the measurements and was pretty generous in sizing it and the jacket itself feels like a light down comforter.
