I don't know why Marsu inexplicably stopped production a few years ago...their site has lookbook and collection photos up like it's still 2009...but I've always wanted someone to make a boot like this.

those boots look slightly dainty for my taste, I like a nice welt and sole. Don't necessarily like lift-toes, and I hope they stay in the past.

    ...

I actually like these. I hate the mid versions of monkey boots, but these make me think Clockwork Orange. I want. What are they?

a low top sneaker and a mid top sneaker boot. Didn't you start out with a variation on your own Margiela 5-zip, and build from there? Why not so the same for footwear, starting with your Margiela kicks?

I just want some rough and tumble kangaroo derbies. no square toe, no pointed toe. nice durable leather, fully lined, preferably a nice goodyear or other quality resolable welt. probably around a 1/2" heel.

with a welt and everything else you described, they'd look nothing like that, though.

drew, I walk by Kinokuniya every day, what magazines / books should I pick up? I want to get some but they're always shrink wrapped so it's hard to tell which ones would be good for me :fu:

I mean I used to get Free and Easy a few years back, and occasionally lightning. But I think I'm over that, unless they've changed.

I haven't been paying attention to your brand lists (have you listed any with your WAYWTs?) lately, what are you interested in?

oh yeah sorry, I wear a mix of americana stuff, but not really styled in the free & easy way. Since you described that Amerikaji (sorry if I got this wrong, I didn't go back to look it up) being pretty progressive lately, what is something that might sync up with what you see on the street?

I really like the ideas and clothes behind nonnative, kapital, mid-market brands like rehacer, remi relief, trove, some sasquatchfabrix, all of that sort of stuff especially. This is the kind of stuff I have an interest in and "like" to wear, so I'm seeing more in how it can be styled than just crappy product shots on rakuten or the companies own single-label lookbooks.

My way of doing this with stuff closely available to me are the Nepenthes brands, Junya, even some Opening Ceremony lately. I should start listing brands but I always wonder if that creates bias in some way.

The other sort of stuff I wear (work stuff) I probably wouldn't be interested in checking out in a magazine so I'll leave that out.
