i like the fit, tho chest seems sized slimmer than mid (mid kinda bulging). a bit of wear should fix it.

+1, everybody needs a rider and a Bomber to start with. It's like having a convertible roadster and a 2+2 GT in your garage- luxuriant, yes, and at times it'll be hard to choose which one you want to take out, but incredibly satisfying to have both.

the bulging in the midsection in that picture might be because of the side entry hand pockets flaring outward

I noticed that as well but on this type of jacket I believe there needs to be some room in the midsection since the waist should fit snugly. A snug fit at the elastic waist coupled with a snug midsection would make an uncomfortable, wrapped bomber.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, I did not start with a stock size. I started with body measurements and then measuring a cotton jacket.

Edit: upon further inspection, I realized the ribbed bottom is the greatest attributor to any puffing in the midsection to the chest. If the jacket does not drape at its full length, it will puff slightly. It's very likely to happen as the ribbing tends to ride up an inch or so.

I could also stand to subtract maybe two inches from the midsection (don't quote me, and the Toj sizing guy maybe wouldn't agree) to achieve a slimmer profile. However, the slimmer it is, the more likely it is to have side pocket flaring due to the jacket being too slim. Currently, my measurements are generous enough such that there is no pocket flaring.

I don't think a bomber is supposed to fit like a moto or a double rider, and I'm glad I realized this before I sent in my order.

you're right, and the Bomber will always look slightly puffed in the midsection no matter how it fits - it's just that ribbed bottom. It'd have to be really way too tight to look 'slim' and that would be a stupid fit. It wouldn't wear well. A few wears and you will come to appreciate the TOJ house fit, I think. It's a good balance of slim plus enough room to live with.

suede or leather Harrington? yes, you can order one if you like. I might make it a bread and butter menu item like the rest of them.
