I think it will be a slow burn type of thing... At the moment it will have a specialty attraction, leather nerds (oh hai!) and what not, but give it a year or two and people will start seeing the results of the aging process. I have little doubt that a 3 year old VTG will be so unusual, and have such a complex colour to it that there could be a little frenzy of people jumping on it. As you said, you can't be flippant with these jackets. Just like a good TV show, give them time to breathe and they may just surprise you.
