Almost all the old horsehide jackets with a nice patina are upwards of 1k. Add shearling in and youre around 2k for a vintage peice in nice condition. Whoever the famous aviator who allegedly owned it certainly gave it a price boost, but it still wouldnt have been cheap.

The guys at fedora lounge were all creaming themselves over it, theres actually a thread dedicated soley to that coat. Prob the nicest looking shearling Ive ever seen, which wasnt a Burberry Prorsum for a roughly equivalent pricetag.

Whoever bought it apparently didnt have the 5k+ to drop on a 70 year old jacket. Wish coats these days had that quality and longevity, im thinking my new toj horsehide moto has a decent shot at still being around 70 years hence.

P.S. An RAF style Irvin flight coat is vastly better looking than the dainty B3 style IMO.

Navy Harrington came. Shit, it is so nice. Excited to wear it in the fall. The navy color is lighter than I expected, but awesome, and it fits right into my wardrobe.
