    Hey Drew,

for giggles and curiosity, do you know if my order is close to being done/shipped?

Ordered a blacked out DR on 12/28/10. Thanks, man.

Waiting to receive it to see if I need to revise the specs before putting in the 3rd order. [IMG]

IIRC they use different facilities to produce different styles. The DR people seem to be a lot more backed up than the bomber dude, I remember reading that one of the guys whose DR was in the last shipment made his order in november.

I ordered around the same time wj4, now I guess the best we can do is wait [IMG] or email them because they can't tell who we are in this thread.

Yeah, you've probably still got a ways to go. I ordered Nov. 29, though there was a zipper backorder issue which shouldn't apply to you. I think 5 weeks is about standard.

I orderd a blacked out moto around that time. I emailed charley a few days ago to see what the status was, but he hasn't gotten back to me [IMG]

This is the chesterfield I received earlier this year. It is a very nice coat, functioning buttons as you can see from the picture.

There is something that I feel like I should mention. As you can see from the side view, there is a fair bit of ballooning around the butt area (Trust me, I don't have a big butt). As a result, the coat doesnt drape as nicely when only the top 2 buttons are button. Buttoning all 3 makes it better.

Overall, it is a nice coat. I got it in camel with horn buttons. Potential buyers should also note that the camel is quite dark, with a peppery tone to it.

Should be a pretty easy and inexpensive alteration if you want to take that in a little. Show it to your tailor.

one of the ToJ members has already expressed frustration about the volume of e-mails they get regarding the status of orders. just wait and charly will get back to you when it ships.

i was told 3-5 weeks, but turnaround seems to be more the latter due to the small setback they had with zippers, and i can imagine there was a large surge in orders due to the the price increase deadline. for the guy that ordered in 12/28, just expect your jacket sometime in the first half of February.

It's intentional, I think Drew has mentioned this. I think it can look really elegant if the coat is properly sized.

Also, not really TOJ specific. But I've found that happens with most slim coats that end below your waist... well unless you have no ass.

I could be wrong but I'd imagine long coats are cut like that to avoid inhibiting your range of motion while walking. Seems fairly intuitive to me especially with slim coats as mentioned above.

Embrace the butt flare, looks way better than a coat that just falls straight, rakish.

The wait itself for the jacket isn't killing me. I just want to see how the jacket fits compared to the first one since slight revisements were made...so I can get cracking on putting in the 3rd order!

Always gotta have something arriving in the mail. [IMG]

I get this on my Chesterfield too, but agree with:

It looks good with a little shape basically. I always button all three buttons though, this isn't a suit jacket.

Yeah, this was mentioned in the old thread too. It's more of a caramel than camel.

Best to just adopt a zen mind of frame about these things. Stuff arrives when stuff arrives, if you stress it, the wait will just feel that much longer.

Always difficult to wait for something you really want though. I've got a navy duffle and brown bomber on order... gonna get antsy for sure. [IMG]

Oh, I was just trying to point out it wasn't an abnormality but part of the design. I was typing on my phone so I kept it short, so it might have only made sense in my head.

Just got a pleasant email saying my item has been shipped. [IMG] I should get it in the next 1-2 business days. Hooray.

Going to start smoking so I can pose cool pics with the DR on.
