1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Technically it's a modified CWU-45 but I suppose I'm wrong to a certain extent

15 weeks in. Sometimes I still debate if lamb was a right decision. Calf seems much more sturdy and can be worn as a winter jacket.

or perhaps I should order another jacket in calf

This is pretty much exactly my thought process. I'm like 8 hours away from ordering a calf MDR to go with my lamb CM.

I own a lamb DR and it's quite warm. At least warm enough for the high 20s, low 30s with a scarf to cover the face.
I don't know if I would wear it for say a montreal winter, but been certainly fine for nyc

I wear my lamb BCDR with a tee-shirt and a sweater underneath in Ottawa, at about -10C I have to switch to a winter jacket. That's wearing a toque and gloves as well, of course. In Montreal you're not using this are your winter jacket. When it hits -45C you'll die.

warmer than i expected. safe to assume double riders are warmer than the moto 2011 because of the extra leather/collar? waiting on one in lamb, assumed i could only use it in fall/spring.

I can't imagine wearing my Toj in 20-30 fahrenheit even with the fur collar, damn.

I wish I hadn't been in the process of losing weight, or had some kind of psychic powers to know what my measurements would be after it all came off. I want a TOJ so bad and now it'll never happen. :(

^You can always pay for a jacket now and send measurements in later.

Woohoo.. making my first foray into ToJ land. Read about 80% of the posts in this awesome thread, came away with the following conclusions:

    i) Trust Charly and do not bug them with incessant emails.
ii) Calf and goat skin wear better than lamb after 2-3 years
iii) Motos are better for stout figures while DR's are good for leaner figures
iv) 4 zips > 2 zips (it helps to break the monotony), silver hardware > antique
    v) The Tumbler site has all the options available, there are no secret options

    Is this about accurate?

^ Sounds about right. I'm about to take my first dive into TOJ as well. I really, really like the idea of buttery-soft lamb, but I keep seeing these comments about how goat is better after a few years...blargh. I definitely see myself wearing this for 5+ years, or as long as it holds up.
