1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Got my brown lamb CWU yesterday! Loving it so far, the fit seems absolutely spot on. Its my first TOJ and now I'm thinking about putting in a final order for a MDR.

I'm so jelly...still waiting for mine. It will be my first leather jacket and I'm in Canada. Temperatures here can go below -40 degrees CELSIUS, winter is coming. I'm wondering if the leather would crack in such a cold climate, anyone know?

At -40 you best be wearing that TOJ leather jacket under a down parka so you're probably okay.

Yeah, I'm in Alaska and I don't recommend any leather jacket for that kind of cold unless it's lined with thick shearling. Even then there are much better options. I'd wear a leather with a hoodie or sweater underneath down to -30 Celcius, but only if I was driving in town without the possibility of getting stranded in the middle of nowhere.

I live in Winnipeg and I've worn my ToJ1 out down to about -30°C and I haven't noticed any cracking or anything like that.

Yeeeeahh that's some serious braving the cold to wear it down to even -5. Canadian winters (apart from BC) aren't leather-friendly - down jackets are the way to go. Function over aesthetics.

It can hit -40 in Québec with the wind chill in winter.

After getting my toj0 I wanted a full leather in black lamb but I've been babying my varsity a lot--perhaps unnecessarily.

Anyway, I probably will get an MDR in black calf. Should I go for 3-zip or 4-zip? Gunmetal or silver? What do you guys think?

Funny, it can hit -40C near Toronto too, which is confusing since Potsnu posted that. I guess most people find shelter in the iron jungle. Most of non-coastal Canada, pretty much, gets to -40 a few times a year.

you guys are crazy with that weather. Anything below 50f (what is that? 8-10c?) And I skip leather all together and go for the warmest jackets I have. Wool.

That cutoff would limit my leather jacket wearing period to 3 months where I live.

Well people in Toronto will wear Canada Goose + sweat pants + UGGs/Timberlands in +10C lol

I'm rarely outside for more than a few minutes in the winter, as I'm either driving or taking a taxi.

But back to the topic, if you sized for a slightly looser fit you can easily wear a hoodie + leather jacket + scarf/toque/gloves and be reasonably warm.

    4 zip is superior.

    Silver zips are superior.
