1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

agree that body fit is 10/10, but I feel sleeves could use additional length ... once the arms break in around the elbow, they won't hang as long are when they are new

Fit is fine, you jerks are nitpicking. It's a Perfecto style jacket, they're suppose to fit like that.

But Vaio, you should have kept your jeans on instead of changing to basketball shorts because these are going into the gallery.

Honestly, it looks much better than yours. Which isn't THAT bad.

I want to see a proper fit pic before passing judgement but as of right now I'm talking about the proportions to his body and how the sleeves are too short, I guarantee if he bent his elbows the jacket would ride up to about 2" above his wrists. And it's even worse considering that from the picture it looks to be calf so it is less forgiving than draping lamb.

I think your one is similar in length in the body, but possibly this dude COULD do with like an additional 1/2" in the sleeves, but not as bad as you make it out to be.. plus krop top is in fashun now. just ask hedi slimane :foo:

The sleeves are just fine. Fools here like to cover half their hand with their sleeve for god knows why.

There's a reason why his fit is going into the gallery and not yours

Does anyone have a suggestion for a lighter shade jacket? Preferably a rather conservative one that could be paired with raw denim, brown boots, and OCBDs? Also, if a lighter jacket should not be paired with that stuff at all, that is good feedback too.

I was thinking maybe a portobello horsehide moto or a toffee tan BCDR. Any other suggestions? Dark whiskey would have been my first choice, but that is not an option any longer.

    Background info:

My current collection consists of: Brown Lamb A2, Sand Suede Baseball, Black lamb MDR, Black Lamb MA-1. In my opinion some of that stuff does not look all that great with raw denim (especially the black jackets). So, trying to have a jacket for the most possible outfits.

Also thinking of getting a brown lamb collared moto for my "dad jacket". Being tall (6 foot 5) you have to jump on MTM while you can.

Didn't know grown men had dick measuring contests

@schultjr: Steel Gray heavy calf suede moto or BCDR don't salad bar it too hard, oxblood would also be sick

    "Right" is subjective though.

What do you consider the right length to be?

Oh you guarantee? Well now, guys, I think we should all stop having common sense and actual opinions because grizzlybear GUARANTEES that is is right even though...

It's clearly shown here that Vaio is in fact bending his elbows and the sleeves look fine?

I guarantee you that grizzlybear is the dumbest poster in this thread and I guarantee that his dumb posts don't just exist in this thread but extends to all the other threads he posts in.

At a guess: Mixing and adding features over-enthusiastically and straying from the designer's vision.

Going for a collared moto as my first/only ToJ (and leather jacket, in general). Opposite question as schultjr: I want something dark (but not black).
Brown lamb, brown goat, or oxblood calf?
Any of them would go with what I normally wear (lotsa blue and grey), so versatility isn't an issue. I'd go for blue lamb except would look weird with dark blue trou. I'm in my 30's & in academia, so I want something that's pub, not club.

Drew's says goat's the classic, though I don't think I like the texture.
Oxblood pics look phenomenal -- and I have boots that color -- but the jacket's quite heavy and I worry about stiffness (har!).
Brown lamb is fine (and sounds like it feels amazing), but maybe _too_ plain?
