1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

You can barely get basic bluchers that aren't total shit for under $300, doubtful there will ever be any quality side zips at that price point (retail). $375-$500 is more realistic... you can find decent quality chelseas and jodhpurs in that range.

Not sure if this has been answered before, but when I was ordering my MA-1 I had no idea I could order a specific size and get different lengths. I know moving forward MTM will be removed as an option but has drew said anything about allowing different lengths? With my body type this helps out so much for a good fit. Seems like a lot of other people who ordered the MA-1 got mixed sizing as well.

Drew, a random aside. You and Beatrice of April in Paris would make beautiful beautiful leather goods babies. She started off at Hermes making custom orders and Kelly bags. These days she has a workshop in San Francisco.

The charcoal ma-1 is very tempting... thanks for the pics.
I have a charly special leather coming my way but thinking about rocking ma-1s, all year long by adding in the suiting wool.
Thinking charcoal or perhaps olive if possible.

It is, but still an interesting thought. She offers something similar to what ToJ does, but for an even more neurotic clientele (in a more expensive overall realm).

Damn I was hesitant on getting a black wool MA-1 because I already have a ribbed collar all black jacket (black/black toj1) but that charcoal one looks great. Goes with black and blue jeans too. :)

There's no difference between the black and charcoal MA-1, is there?

Guess I found out the answer to the question.

They look very similar/identical, add in the fact that I'm slightly colour-blind and you get a question.

For calf leather jacket, should I use Pecard, Lexol or Neatsfoot to soften and treat it? I have a feeling I'll be wearing my new whiskey calf moto for years to come and I want to take good care of it. Any advice would be appreciated.

I think you would end up needing a high res photo to be able to see the true color differences -- otherwise, it's just "dark colors." To my eye, I can barely distinguish the colors with the phone cams -- but the difference is definitely there.

Got tracking for my Sherwood 4-zip MDR this morning. Sent payment Dec 27. Now I've got to decide if I want a black leather MA-1 or Charcoal wool MA-1 next...
