looking through the gallery I think that tan IS the best option...
The gray the used last year isn't what I had in mind.

Is there anyway the ribbing could be placed inside out (upside down?) so that the stripes are on the inside and its all white on the outside?

Isn't this the same thing as solid ribbing? Drew just didn't like how the solid looked. I'm not a big fan, either.

Was wondering what shoes would go well with the TOJ Trousers ?

    Allen Edmonds oxfords ?

The Leed's model can work for trousers. Has a good shape and not super elongated like some designer derbies

Has the right volume overall and in the toe box. The smooth black leather is nice.

Not sure if Drew approves of this brand synergy since I am sure he loves English make shoes

I did take a look at those Lad and it is a tad long IMO.

Especially because of the taper w/ the TOJ trousers, something similar to the AE Leed's or even the Raf derbies is good

The TOJ trousers look like they'll have a stronger taper than those, but the shoes might work. I personally want to wear them with my CP training boots and incoming CP desert boots(this time sized right), and my leather and suede bombers. Though I did drop off some Church for Jil derbys(pretty much look like the Raf ones) to be stretched and have the scuffs and scratches fixed. I think they'll go great with the pants(and 2010DR), and probably be more what Drew had in mind when he made them.

Tapered trousers and ankle footwear do not work unless you have a nice hem (no break) that allows the pants to hoover perfectly on top of the shoes. The end result if not hemmed, from my experience with slim/tapered wool trousers is unnecessary bunching like denim stacking. The idea though is that you're wearing wool trousers, which to me brings about an entire different look than the Dior pancakes around the ankle.

    just a thought

Some looks that I am watching right now, perhaps similar taste to yours currently 9oh2:

not bad, but the AE's and the various Raf shoes are very different in last. The American PTB's are pretty low in the toe, wide all the way through, and round around the front, and then the quarters reach forward a bit more. Rafs look different in pics but in person they're rather lifted in the toe with a bulbous last, have a less blunt front edge (some are rather pointed), and then taper back to a really narrow waist and heel. Only the Church's x Jil Sander were ever that well made though, so it's a tossup.

This is an awesome look, is it a mixed look or one designer? Rather hard to pull off, gotta size the rider's to the suit jacket - that takes skill. Can't really wear the rider's on it's own that way either since it's sized like an overcoat.
