    That's probably because you're a quant nerd.

A veblen good is one whose demand curve rises as the price goes up.

    Econ theory major ftw.

None of the economics professors I know could tell you either. Throwing around terms from freshman economics does not an economist make

Take it easy. There's a post on every page asking about the bball. We'll hear about it soon enough.

For a forum like this, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the amount of viewers who actually post is under 3% or so.

that quote back in context should've omitted the word 'opposite' to make sense, btw.

I think Synthese might be an alright fit, but after thinking on these ideas and having talked it out with myself, I'm realizing I need a collaborator for fewer tasks than I realized. Maybe I am just lonely and need somebody to talk to on a level that entertains me.

Ironknochs or anybody else who likes to fuck around with photoshop - want a challenge?

Using the pattern you see here, the hair on hide baby calf skin right under the metal bar - (may need to google search and find a full example and then match the tones instead) -

    Apply to the TOJ daypack:

    http://toj-gallery.com/main.php?g2_itemId=1437

The areas that shouldn't be the calf pattern would be; the boxed-in bottom part that is reinforced, the lower skinny straps, the underside of the main padded straps, and then the top handle. These should be done in solid color, regular leather - color would be a whisky color that matches the darker shade in the hair on hide calf above.

thats what I'm focusing on, instead of studying fashion I'm studying design and technical graphics and taking all the pattern making and construction classes as electives.

I'm in all likelihood wrong, but it sounds like you're looking for a Muse who can light a fire under you and get you excited. Someone who can talk on your level who can throw ideas at you. Like the Glaze from Delocated or Jim Joe Kelly from the Tim and Eric movie, a personal Shaman.

Kind of. I had a friend and a roommate once who kind of filled that job description to me, he was a talent - but he's disappeared into thin air. A little hard to work with people to create things together if you can't get in touch with them half of the time. Kind of reminds me of that pic, lol.

Good; well, good, if that's the part you enjoy. That kind of stuff is what I enjoy, so I do it. I do think if you like other facets surrounding clothing design, chase them down too. Well-rounded game is hard to have anymore I think, so if one actually does have a complete game you are ahead of many. There are a lot of crutches out there nowadays too, especially when it comes to the constructive side. They've built those into the system on the manufacturing side with factories having in-house pattern cutters, samplers, even fabric procurement and selection, etc because many people are just pen and paper dreamers and don't really care to have chops if they don't absolutely need to - slows them down. I kind of agree with them. It's like, why do unnecessary things if you don't have to? Still, the more you control your recipe and the preparation, the closer you are to your creations, right?
