The best part of that graph is the place where you want to put CCP, and the place where you want to want to put CCP.

you, and I'd say the vast majority on styleforum SWD (like 95-99% of those enrolled, I'd say), whether they prescribe to aspirations of mode or whether they're in the Stanley Van Buren/Epaulet/WvsG thing - they're mostly in a little boomerang shape that touches the grey box slightly, maybe giving a sliver of a point to Mode, and then the elbow of the boomerang sitting slightly in the mauve Itaoya-kei box (trad) and then extending towards the Ameoya-kei box, but avoiding fully Gainer and Onii-kei.

Another example for you - whether you understand what the magazines are about, or even understand anything about the graphs, the takeaway is that everybody has an area of the graph for their own, and that movement happens, movement is significant, etc. So take for example, Stanley Van Buren - I've always joked around about how I want to swag him out - that's half joking, half serious - right now I think we can mostly agree that SVB dresses like a dork. That's represented here by the pink shape. What I'd like to do, is to swag him out, give him some sort of knowledge and maybe a styling sense/brand awareness that puts him closer to the yellow shape.
If he were to make the transition to the yellow shape, his style would be much more palatable.

Can you translate the Japanese in the graph to English? I read your post and all, but referencing back and forth is making my head hurt.

I'm not that good at Photoshop. Maybe someone more talented can do so.

I've always wondered what SVB's prescribed ToJ would be. The 2011 moto seems like an easy choice for plenty of people, but SVB has a fairly long, thin neck, and I don't know that a band collar would do him any favors. You said earlier that you're not crazy about the CM, so I assume that's out of the running. Does that put him in bomber jacket territory, perhaps with a suede A1 or a lamb A2? Or maybe a suede T1 instead?

Well, first, this goes for many people on these English language fashion forums, and not just SVB - they all need to maybe delve into what is normally the unimportant 'Salon-kei' and get a decent looking haircut and personal styling going. Once a visual identity better than Supercuts emerges, then they'd be easier to place into certain garments for styling. That's the basis for the 'Salon-kei

this goes as much for SZ as it does SF and sufu btw - have you seen those people's fucking hair? It sucks. $10,000 outfits, $10 haircuts.

If we could get SVB with a better haircut, he could possibly be better suited to the suede T-1, that's what I'm thinking.

I was trying to place myself on the graph, thinking i was occupying the area around the upper left corner (overlap between streetwear and repro) and then I started looking at woofin.

Holy shit, what an awesome magazine.

Lol, most of these magazines are available at any convenience store in Tokyo - except Woofin. hahaha. Men's Egg is even a 7-11 staple.
