My med grey min moto I bought off b/s arrived last night (sorry Mr. TOJ, thanks Mirrorball).... The lamb is insanely soft, when I run my hands along it it feels like I am high fiving a million angels. Fit is a bit tight but I'm not complaining for the price I got it for. I've got a few queries for you guys that may sound dumb:

    1. How do you 'train' the collar to spread to the sides like aeglus' moto?
    2. Will the chest eventually stretch out with wear or if its tight now, forever tight it will be?

Anyways, fit pics to come... Also, trousers look great

You have to train the leather to be that shape I remember people saying, that they did that for the collar of the CM with oil and working it in over time it'll start to take shape.

Aeglus washed his to look like that. I did the same to my moto (soak for a while, hang to dry) and it looks just like it.

Rick marking up retail based on leather quality is amusing for any number of reasons.

I'm not sure why he's still producing the stooges, that cut is starting to look pretty dated imo.

At any rate, is stuff in oilcloth still in the works? I just re-waxed my oilcloth jacket for the first time and it looks fucking incredible. It's the sort of fabric that just gets better and better with age, but unlike raw denim I don't think it's really going to wear out because it doesn't have the same type of stress placed on it.

I get the whole markup and premium for brands such as Owens or raf and mom. But can someone please explain to me why there leathers can be 5000+ where a ton still remains under 1000. I get that we're dealing straight with the guys making em but there's still a huge discrepancy...

toj marks up approximately one time over the actual material and labor cost to cover in the event of a jacket getting written off; high fashion brands mark up between 10 and 20 times to cover for all the hands that are in the high fashunz honey jar... Keeping in mind that big makers pay fractions of what we do, because they implement economies of scale and underpaid workers, whereas we overpay on all of those accounts because we work at a small level, perhaps the smallest level. The pants are no exception, and are all still going to be handmade one by one.
