I've got some Zegna shoes that have (*gasp*) a rubber sole and the same thing has happened to both shoes. Otherwise, they're slick. I just patched up my heart then patched up my shoes. Shouldn't have to use shoe goo if the shoes are this expensive, but...

Which model of Tod's loafers did you buy? Can we see a pic of your heels?
I have 3 pair of Tod's and no complaints at all.

the only Tod's model worth buying now (on sale), is the Laccetto Fondo New G because it's essentially the Gommini with a much more durable sole that will last

you can downsize A LOT with these as well for some reason - I'm a US 11 1/2 so you would thnk I'd be a 10 1/2 EU size in these, but turns out I fit great in a 9 1/2 (EU size)

my pair:

I wonder how many retailers wish all their customers had this perspective?

Yep they are crap! I have two pair of Gommini's and the leather starts coming off the heal on the first wearing much less the 4th. I only wear my Ferrari labeled red pair when I drive my F355 and I rarely do that since I have much better shoes for driving anyway. I'll never buy Tod's again!

Regards

Tod's aren't crap but if you are looking for good driving mocs its better to look for the Italian Car Shoes, owned by Prada but hand made.
