Reasonably common in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but (thankfully) I've never seen pleated jeans/jean pants since that time and I hope that I never do again!

I had an old boss who wore these. His wife bought them for him. They divorced a short time afterward. Not sure if the denim chinos were involved in the divorce.

- I think it looks stupid. I mean you may push the envelope as far as possible when it comes to clothes, but it must be to some extend. There is a border/boundary that one must not cross.
