http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/i...entPage=family For some odd (lucky) reason polo.com had these on sale for a few days last week and i grabbed a pair in black as i have a wide foot and they are E's. I purchased for $199.00. they have since returned to retail price not sure way. Anyway, in the past my experience with wingtips has been mixed. these seem to be more refined and i think they will look good with a ff 3 button suit with no cuffs. am i wrong to think this and should i stick to plain toe? is a wingtip too traditional for a modern look? to the gents that wear no cuff Italian suits, do you wear wingtips?

I would say wingtips are fine for the most casual suits. Non-black wingtips make anything more casual. There is definately a certain trad aura about them, but they have a place in a man's wardrobe.

Wingtips are another one of those classic items of clothing that seem to be "in" right now. I have been wearing them about as long as I have been wearing a suit to work (about 20 years). My feeling is that fashion comes and goes, but a nice pair of wing tips will never go out of style.

A Black Imperial wingtip is in my weekly rotation at work with suit. I have always been a lover of wingtips. Fashionable or not.

I saw those on sale at polo.com last week. Originally, they only had black in E sizes, then the dark brown and medium browns popped up. Wish they had a D width in the black. They look fairly elegant and are not too clunky. Let us know how they turn out. I'm curious as well.

I say wingtip.

I'm young, like a slim modern look, and I own and regularly wear 3 different pairs of wingtips (not all at once). As long as the styling isn't too chunky I think it works well in many situations from jeans to a business suit. You just have to match the shoe to the rest of the ensemble well

Those are nice, elegant wingtips. I don't think you'd have any problem wearing those with suits.

I've been wearing various iterations of wingtips for about 45 years at this point. My clear preference is for the heavy, gunboat designs. The PRL Darlton Wingtip is a monster...but, a beautiful one!

While I don't currently own a pair of wingtips. I think they should be a staple for every guy.
