Pocket square + sport coat?

I have a sport coat in a dark olive, as shown here.

or see here:http://i52.tinypic.com/14ifj45.jpg

I usually wear it with dark blue chino's or jeans.

I was thinking of using a white/cream linen or cotton pocket square. I usually wear a white/blue candy stripe shirt (as shown), or a white/dark green check shirt, this would accompany the pocket square.

Good idea?

Thanks

(p.s. this was on ask a question, get an answer...but there were no answers)

Absolutely. To be honest, the jacket looks a bit drab -- probably just the camera flash -- and a pocket square would liven it up a bit.

Light pink, maybe? No? Okay, I'll show myself out...

There is no situation where white linen is a bad choice.

White linen PS.

Some colour wouldn't hurt either.

Purples, Lavenders and then Navys are my favorite color compliments to olive greens. The purple might be a bit more fun.

In general I would avoid a pink pocket square only because there are so few good looking ones available. Pink pocket squares seem to draw odd comments from people, especially guys.

But a pink shirt (or solid blue) would be nice with a purple patterned or navy patterned PS.

The white pocket square against a solid olive would look rather plain IMO. I'm not a fan of olive and white.

It's a little harder to do well with jeans, but it is possible. I generally opt for a tv fold in those cases. Makes it a little more subtle.
