^^^ The Artista lasts have some elements reminiscent of regular loafer lasts (sides of the opening slightly taken in, bit raised instep), although to a lesser degree. This is why it was tested doing the loafers on Goya instead of making a new loafer lasts, and feedback has been very positive. Sure, perhaps a little bit more difficult to get your feet in than loafers made on specialised loafers lasts, but the fit works very well, many seem to think it's the best fitting loafers they have.

What would be the appropriate shoe cream colour for the TLB dark brown hatch grain leather? I am specifically talking about Saphir and Boot Black - the dark brown cream from them is supposed to be almost black, but the TLB dark brown hatch grain is still distinctly brown (from the pictures at least).

Does anyone have any insight or suggestions?

If you dont want to go dark brown you can go for havana, it has a slight tint of warm tones in it, if you want to avoid that you can go for parisian brown.

I'm not sure if I should post this here or in the shoe care thread, but I've got a question about shoe care for my Artista's.

The Skolyx website advices Saphir Medaille d'or cream and wax for regular care, and Saphir renovateur 1-2 times a year for deep cleaning and nourishing.

But should I always remove the old cream and wax before every polish? Or should they fade naturally in time? And if so, what should I use? I understand that Renomat can be too aggressive and might remove the paint from crust leather. Would Saphir's Cleanser or Plant based cleaner be a better option?

Short answer - no, no need to worry about removing previous coats of polish. It's really not necessary to do it often and I'd go as far as saying it defeats the purpose.

You'll find that as you keep shining your shoes with regular wear, the process becomes easier, the shine pops up more and more. This is precisely due to the previous coats of polish making the job easier. If you get to a point where you've been doing this for a year or two, it might be useful to strip it all off, condition the leather and start again. At that point, Renomat is fine to use but certainly not on a weekly/monthly basis.

Is this the pair with the crooked lacing? I'm assuming they didn't take the shoes back...
Toni explained that they check for that issue at the factory, and it was normal there. The crookedness only happens when I put them on, so it is an incompatibility issue between the last, pattern, and my foot/ankle.

About eyelets, here we have a system when we make the lasting process to be sure that they are in straightway.

Here's exactly what he said pertaining to this.

"... Is difficult for me to explain in english but It is because the proportions that we use for the boot, it is a little different from the leg you have. you probably fill more on the inside than on the outside. I really think after some uses the leather will adapt better to your leg and will look more straight.

Any matter, just contact with me any time."

While we're having question time... :)

You mentioned before that the Goya 9.5F fits you well when you use an insole to fill in some volume. I'm curious why you elected to go for a 10 with these boots?
It's a shame they didn't work out for you, as they look rather nice.
For those, I used a thin sock. I intended to wear a very thick winter wool sock for these. Maybe the sock thickness around the ankle is related to my issue.

Patrick, you beat me to posting the link. Last week I had a kidney remove. When I woke up in recovery I asked where the museum green shoes were. For some strange reason I thought I was visiting TLB. I have four pair in the Artesta line. Couldn’t be happier with them. Found out Friday the cancer was stage 1 and didn’t spread. Time to buy more shoes. Rusty

How long does it take for TLB shoes to be shipped in your experience? I placed an order a little more than a week ago and I have not even got a shipping confirmation. This seems a tad much. The shoes are from the ready-to-wear Artista collection.
