Good to hear that you have tried on EB and will try on TLB this weekend. Fit is the most important. Both make very good shoes. Let us know which one you buy. Given what you wear to work, I would buy a couple dark brown and burgundy oxfords with shoe trees. I like the look of TLB's brown box calf leather Oxfords from their mto program.
Agree on dark brown and burgundy - If you prefer the broguing both make a nice adelaide that come in a number of different leathers and colors.

What is the puropse or benefit of the beveled waist on dress shoes?

Bevelled waists was first always combined with a blind welted edge (actually "bevelled waist" in the beginning referred to the blind welted edges, not the built-up rounded bottom), and to have a smooth curve going in under the waist plus to strengthen the waists when you made them more narrow, you built them up. You always had the waist go in under the heel, which was always made heel lift by heel lift. On today's factory-made Goodyear welted shoes the bevelling usually stops before the heel, minimising the strengthening effect to almost nothing. So there it's mainly style. But as I've written about before, with Artista the bevelling actually goes in under the waist, which is very rare on factory-made Goodyear welted shoes, so here the bevelling has a purpose and makes a constructional difference.

Why doesn’t TLB offer toe caps?

In the works.

I am looking into purchasing the 112 Artista in a 7.5 and am wanting to get shoe trees with them. Does anyone here have experience with the TLB shoe trees? Since they only come in whole sizes should I do a 7 or 8?

Good question. If you're getting regular width shoes (F) I'd say go with the bigger size shoe trees. It will all depend if you're lucky to get the new batch of shoe trees that fit true to size, or the old ones that run one size too small.

Have they had problems with their shoe trees? If so did they fix it for the customers?

I ordered an E width pair of Artista shoes and they came in with shoe trees that were too small where also one of the trees differed in size from the other. Clearly, they didn't fit the shoes well at all. Customer service was excellent though, Toni immediately sent another pair of shoe trees. Those were certainly big enough and in the right size but were way too wide for my shoes (being in narrow width) and I couldn't insert them at all, so I ended up getting a refund and opted for another brand's shoe trees (EG).

So I guess it's two issues - 1) sometimes the trees run too small, 2) in the case of narrow width shoes, the correct size trees are too wide.
In any case, I've had a very good experience with TLB resolving any such issues, customer service has been great.

Best to speak to Toni for advice on shoe tree sizing for shoes that are in between sizes, but from what I've seen I'd go with the bigger size trees in case you're getting F width shoes.
