Would aggressive sanding on the side help? I don't mean manual sanding, but using a tool, as commonly seen in cobbler shops.
I think it would certainly help but the margin for error would be quite small which would require multiple iterations of sanding/smoothing/trying on, etc.

The more I think about it, the more I lean towards sending them back for a refund and just buying another pair of narrower trees.

Can someone recommend good shoe-trees for narrow E width Artista shoes (Picasso last)? The lasted ones from TLB seem to be made only for the F width shoes and are way too wide. Toni was kind enough to send me a new pair after the first ones I ordered had some issues - but they are huge, the shoes feel like they'll burst open at the lacing and the vamp when I try to insert them (even when doing it at an angle and removing the laces entirely).

I was looking at the ones from Skoaktiebolaget but not sure if they won't suffer from the same issue.
I use standard non lasted shoe trees for the same reason. THe TLB lasted ones are too big for E width shoes.

Thanks, useful to know it’s not just me. My EG (semi)lasted shoe trees seem to fit them reasonably well but are slightly long so I think I’ll ultimately buy another pair of those, half a size smaller.

I’ll report back once I do it.

For those struggling with overly wide TLB shoe trees for narrow width E Artista shoes, I think I've found a decent solution.

For 6E UK Artista shoes, I went for Edward Green shoe trees in 6.5UK in E/F width and they seem to fit quite well. The shoe trees give the heel a very nice tear-drop shape and adequately fill out the rest of the shoe with good support on the arch. There is only a little bit of slack on the vamp but it's honestly minimal and definitely won't cause any issues with creasing.

Medallion apparently has a new line in partnership with TLB. Unique lasts, leathers, models. Stock with JR soles. Very curious to find out more (they aren’t on the website yet that I see)

Very curious to find out what all is available, different about them (besides JR being standard) and cost. Not on the regular website or their taobao yet.
